This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is InspireInclusion
A day to acknowledge and celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness against bias, and act for inclusiveness and equity.
We currently have 9 wāhine toa who each bring incredible diversity, mana, laughter and togetherness to our brigade.
From our recruits, Firefighters, Qualified Firefighters and Station Officers, our wāhine are proud to represent and support our community at calls and behind the scenes in management and leadership roles.
We also remember Kay Morrison- our first female brigade member in 1985 and every wāhine toa that has volunteered with us since!
And of course all of the daughters, partners, mums, aunts and female figures that inspire, support and encourage all of our members.
